Pia has been developing people and ground-breaking programs for over 20 years. As a trainer and consultant, she has designed and delivered hundreds of hours of workshops around the world on concept development, visual storytelling, reality formatting and multi-skilling of television journalists. She’s held a variety of senior positions, including Head of Programming at TV2-Denmark, Head of Development of Factual Entertainment at CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation), Director of the European Film College and, most recently, Managing Director of CBC English Services in Quebec. Originally from Denmark, she was a pioneer of docusoaps and reality programming in the 90s. As head of Entertainment at Swedish Television, she co-created “Expedition Robinson”, the original format for “Survivor “ with Planet 24. In Canada, she was creative producer on “Race to Mars”, the first factual-based drama on Discovery. Pia is a consultant with The Format People Group.
