PIPER ANNE WIND CAMPBELL
Ambassador to Mongolia
Piper Anne Wind Campbell, a senior career Foreign Service Officer, was sworn in as Ambassador to Mongolia on August 6, 2012, following her nomination by President Obama and Senate confirmation. She presented her credentials to President Ts. Elbegdorj August 24, 2012.
Before Mongolia, Ms. Campbell served as the senior civilian representative of the U.S. government in southern Iraq. Her June 2011 – June 2012 tour included establishing U.S. Consulate General Basrah and managing continued interaction as the U.S. military departed Iraq. Prior to Basrah, Ms. Campbell worked as Chief of Staff to then-Deputy Secretary of State Jacob Lew (now Treasury Secretary) and to Deputy Secretary of State Thomas Nides.
